UST ALR is not the same as generic ALR
Screen structure is directional. A screen made for a standard-throw ceiling projector may reject light arriving from below — exactly where a UST projector sends it. Match the screen technology to the projector type.
Screen size changes brightness
As you enlarge the image, the same light is spread across a larger area. That means a 150-inch picture can look less punchy than a 100-inch picture in the same room.
Wall texture still matters
A smooth wall is useful for a quick test, but UST optics magnify geometry errors. Fixed-frame screens provide a predictable flat surface and can simplify alignment.
Room light still wins
ALR does not make ambient light irrelevant. Direct sunlight, bright windows opposite the screen and ceiling lights near the image can still reduce perceived black level.
